The Telford Environment Partnership (TEP) is one of the newest thematic partnerships within the LSP structure. Formed in 2006 with the aim of providing a strategic lead for environmental issues in the Borough, the Environment Partnership includes representatives from the:
· Environment Agency
· Green Wood Centre
· Marches Energy Agency
· Natural England
· Severn Gorge Countryside Trust
· Shropshire Wildlife Trust
· Telford & Wrekin Council
A 'Climate for Change' Strategy is being developed that will lead the way in making Telford a ‘green city’, with the highest quality sustainable environment. For more details on this document and climate change go to www.telford.gov.uk/climatechange.
The TEP have drafted a ‘business case’ which is currently being considered by the partner organisations. A meeting in late May will bring all the partners together to finalise the document.
A Scrutiny Commission has undertaken a review of Biodiversity. The draft recommendations which include items relating to the TEP will be going to Cabinet on 12th May. This along with the ‘business case’ will be discussed at a TEP meeting in late May (date to be confirmed).
The terms of reference for the TEP are available here.
